Brockholes Trip

We had a fanatastic time at Brockholes today learning all about rivers and the water cycle!

We walked the course of river, spotting its features on the way, played lots of games related to the water cycle and learnt so much!

What was your favourite part of the trip? What did you learn?

End of Term Projects

At the end of the Autumn term, we used our Lostock Learner approach to create a project to demonstrate our learning about the Anglo-Saxons. We used different ways to present our learning such as presentations, posters, books or games. When they were finished, we then shared our projects with Year 3 who had created their own projects about their topic of the Anglo-Saxons. This was a really valuable learning experience for us all and allowed us to show off our learning and be proud of our work!

The Fib

We have really been enjoying our class reader ‘The Fib’ recently.

Could you explain what the book is about? Maybe you could write a summary for one of the stories?

which is your favourite part so far and why?

World War One Centenary

Wow! We have really enjoyed a great start so far to our centenary celebrations to mark 100 years since the end of WW1.

We have used the film Poppies as a prompt for our writing and done some drama work to study characters emotions. We have also created timelines to show the key events of the war.

What have you learnt about WW1 so far?

We performed our harvest class assembly to the whole school and our parents this morning. Everyone loved it because it was absolutely fantastic! Everyone remembered their parts and our singing was brilliant! A big thank you to the parents who joined in – you were very brave!! Here are a few snaps…
