I hope you enjoyed yesterday and found your learning fun.
Remember if you can not get on the blog any day while school is closed then there are some printed activities also in your home learning packs. Each stapled pack is for 1 day and includes a maths, spelling or writing, reading and science activity.
Also inside your folder is also a Learning Log sheet with a long-term project you could complete while school is closed. The project focuses on The Great Fire of London and there are lots of different suggested activities you can complete to research this important event in History.

Click the link below and complete the revision lesson on adding 2 digit numbers. There are 8 different activities for you to try.

Once you have finished log on to your own portal and complete the homework task to check your understanding. Your login details are in your reading diary

Also please complete pages 10-13 of your Maths CGP book to learn and apply number line work.
Can you complete pages 4 and 5 of your CGP Comprehension book. One of the texts is a poem and the other is a non-fiction texts about seasons.
Challenge: Can you rewrite the poem The Owl and the Pussy-Cat? You can post your own versions on the blog.
Replace the verbs went, took, wrapped, looked and sang with better verbs.
Once you have finished you can read your home reading books or any book you enjoy.
Log onto spelling shed again and play games to continue to learn your common exception words. Your login details are in your reading diary. Remember I can see how you are improving when I login.
Then read page 38 of your CGP English book and complete the questions of page 39 on how to spell words with the soft ‘c’ and hard ‘c’ sounds. Questions get more challenging as you work through the 3 spelling tasks. Your parent/carer can mark your work using the answers in the book.
Complete the learning on Pages 6-7 of the CGP English book about nouns and noun phrases. The questions get more challenging as you work through them. Your parent/carer can mark your work using the answers in the back of the book.
Then can you write a conversation between these characters. Think about what they would like to say to eachother. Remember the words they say should go inside speech marks. Please post your comments below on the blog so your work can be published.
Hot Challenge: Can you write 5 sentences to explain what is happening and include some speech within your writing. Use correct punctuation including speech marks and do not use the word said.
Spicy Challenge: Write the conversation trying to use speech marks.
Mild Challenge: Complete these sentences.
The orange one-eyed alien gasped,” ______________________________!”
The spotty baby alien screeched, ” ________________________________!”
Try some of your own.
Create some art work or a collage inspired by the colours of the rainbow like lots of people are doing to encourage others during this time. Be creative. You can use paints, crayons, felt tip, glitter, fabric, coloured paper or card, balloons or anything you can find at home. You can post your artwork to the blog.
