Good morning Year Five. Here is your learning for today.

Reading– Please read a book of your choice for at least 30 minutes today and talk to someone about what you have read.

English– Please complete today’s task from our writing challenge. Remember to use the features of Year Five writing that we have been practising this year. SpAG– Please play at least three games on spelling shed.

Maths– Please complete multiplication and division work- pg 21, 22, 23 in your CGP books.

Group 1– pages 23 and 24 in CGP books

French– Learn the names of the planets below. You could print them out and test another person in your family or ask them to test you.

Match the 5 planets below to the French descriptions.

Hello everyone! Hope you are all well. Just wanted to let you know my little girl Esmé Martha Sowden arrived on 23rd June! We are all doing really well and Isla is loving being a big sister!
Hopefully, I will be able to bring Esmé into school to meet you all in September 🙂 

Not long now until the end of term, keep working hard and then enjoy your summer holidays!

Good morning Year Five. Here is your learning for today.

Reading– Please complete ‘Tales of King Arthur’ comprehension in your CGP book pg8-9

Group 1– pages 4-5 in your CGP comprehension book.

English– Today, you can choose from Wednesday and Thursday’s writing tasks on our writing challenge. Remember to use the features of Year Five writing that we have been practising this year.

SpAG– Create a quiz using this week’s spellings. Post it on the blog for your friends to solve.

Maths– Click here for today’s learning video.  Complete the activities below. I will post the answers at 3pm today.

Group 1– Your task is on mymaths

R.E.– How do religions use symbolism of light and dark? Today we are thinking about how Hindu’s use symbolism of light and dark. Click on the picture to watch the story of Rama and Sita. 

Think about times when they might have felt ‘dark’ or ‘light’. The story of Rama and Sita is about light overcoming darkness. Draw a line down the middle of your paper and label one side dark, and one side light. Write about times in the story when Rama or Sita might have felt light or darkness.

Chilli challenge- think of times in your own life when you may have felt light or darkness.

I can’t believe it’s July already! I hope that you are enjoying your week. Here is your learning for today. 

Reading– Your reading challenge is on LBQ this morning. It is about the mysteries of the Indus Valley. Look out for the code.  I will post it very soon.

Group 1– Your text is about ‘The Great Fire of London’

English– Complete the section on basic clauses Pg 16 and 17 in your grammar CGP book.

Challenge– pg 18 and 19 trickier clauses.

Group 1– pg 14 and 15

SpAG– Play at least three games on spelling shed, then fill in the missing words below using your spellings.

Think about the differences between physical features(rivers, fields etc), and human made features (buildings, canals, etc) of an area. Research the human and physical features of the Amazon rainforest. You can use the purple mash 2do task to present your findings or choose your own way e.g. poster, leaflet, pic collage, explain me, book creator, powerpoint etc.
