European Day of Languages

Today, Year Two have a had a fabulous day on our European Day of Languages. We have been learning all about Germany!

We have been baking gingerbread men, weighing the ingredients and reading the scales in grams. We have been learning to speak German on the laptops. We have been tasting German food, making fact files all about Germany and writing character descriptions about characters from the Brothers Grimm fairytales We have also been looking in the atlases at maps of Europe and finding countries, adding them to our own maps.

We have had lots of fun and have learned lots about Germany, who can tell me a fact about Germany?

Welcome back Year Two!

Welcome back Year Two! Since coming back to school Year Two have been working very hard. In our English we have been learning about the story ‘The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch’, we have been learning the story using talk for writing actions. What is you favourite part of the story?

In Maths we have been focusing on place value, partitioning numbers into tens and units. Our Creative Curriculum has a History focus this half term and we are learning all about Grace Darling. Can you remember what period of time Grace Darling lived?

Keep watching our blog for more exciting news about our learning!
