A huge thank you to everyone who purchased a balloon yesterday and also to those who came along to watch them be released. Everyone had a brilliant time and we look forward to hearing how far the balloons travelled very soon!
This morning, a weird and wonderful discovery was made in our school grounds. Police were contacted and the scene was cordoned off as a precaution. The children on arrival at school have been very excited by their findings and plan to carry out further investigations this week. Any suggestions what this could be, or any sightings over the weekend we would love to hear about.
A huge well done to our Year 5 and 6 football team who took on Clevelands Prep School last night and won 3-0. A huge thank you to Mr Docherty,Mr Hargrove and Mr Hodkinson who all gave up their time to run our team. We will be travelling to Clevelands next week. Thank you also to our parents for coming along to support the children and school.
Thank you to everyone who attended our first ever Art Exhibition this week!
Our children spent a long time creating their masterpiece in class before they were sent away to be professionally mounted and framed. The framed art work was then displayed for us all to see in the hall.
The children had a chance to have a walk through the exhibition with their friends during the afternoon before we opened our doors to our Lostock families. It was wonderful to see so many people viewing our work!
Have a look at our photos below (The video would not play so we had to change it!)
Today we had two special visitors in school, Mrs Lyons and Mr Mills from BoltonSICT . They came to introduce reception, year1 and year5 classes to programming. We used iPads to log into Purplemash and the younger pupils used 2Go and year 5 used 2Code, we learnt new computer science vocabulary – algorithm, blocks of codes and debugging. The lessons went too quickly, we all enjoyed the sessions.
In the video below you can see us all hard at work.
Red Nose Day 2015 – Make your face funny for money!
Red Nose Day is back on Friday 13th March and once again, the nation is gearing up to put on their Noses, pull out all the stops, and get fundraising.
However , we have been ‘hand-picked’ to take part in a media event to promote the official day. This means we will celebrate red nose day a month early on Friday 13th February. During that day official photographers will be in school to take pictures of our fundraising activites and thesewill be used to promote ‘Red Nose Day’. As always, we hope to raise a record amount of money for a very worthy cause and we want to have lots of fun whilst we are doing it!! A letter has been sent home with your child outlining our activies and theme for the day.
Whether it’s at work, at school or at home, the money raised for Red Nose Day is spent by Comic Relief to transform the lives of millions of people, both at home in the UK and across Africa
We have lots of fun activities planned for our children, you can help by learning the official song for this years Red Nose Day. Keep an eye on the blog for more updates.
